The film ‘Mirzya” is written by “Gulzar” who is known as the legendary scribe of India. The film is directed by ‘Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’ who is to be credited to bring the kind of Romeo Juliet story of doomed lovers by the name ‘Sahiban’ and ‘Mirza’. The film looks interesting if you plan to go out to a theatre due to its epic scale and stunning visuals. It’d be best to watch on the big screen.
The film is in fact, gorgeously shot where newcomers ‘Saiyami Kher’ (Sahiban) and ‘Harshvardhan’ Kapoor (Mirza) comes to light. Mirza is a warrior and Sahiban is an impressive and charming girl who is already engaged to another person. They plan to run off together, but don’t succeed in their endeavours.

The story of Mirzya doesn’t end by discussing the characters of Mirza and Sahiba but goes further. It gives a sense or echoes of the Romeo Juliet story of the present times. The rest of the story revolves around Soochi (Kher) and Monish (Kapoor). They both love each other and happen to be childhood friends. However, they get separated due to an incident that causes ‘Monish’ to be put behind bars. He breaks out after the escape from juvie.
But finally both get united as soon as they become full grown adults. At this time, Soochi starts coming closer to another guy Kanan (Anuj Choudhry). But this guy is more of an obscenely rich mentality. Time takes its own turn and both Kanan’ and Soochi get engaged. But at this time, Soochi relates herself again to her childhood soulmate, who is no more a suitable match for her.
More or less, Mirzya is just a standard story drama, more of a kind of Romeo Juliet story. It’s kind of a story that has been narrated hundreds of times before. Here we should remind you both ‘Soochi’ and her father (Art Malik) are avid followers and admirers of Shakespeare. In spite of being closer to a well set Romeo Juliet Story, the film differences itself both in terms of picturization and the lushness of its vivid style. If you watch the movie in theatres, you would feel it’s every moment appealing and captivating. One can’t forget some scenes covering Sahiban and Mirza without uttering a single word and are therefore without any dialogues.
The film goes poetic screening Romeo Juliet story
The film’s momentum always keeps going due to its gorgeous shots taken in between. For example, if you look at some of the special shots that screen horses running all over in the fields along with its latest and up to date sequences, you would be able to make out the differences of your own. The music in the film also looks appealing and is penned by some great people like Loy Mendosa, Shankar Mahadevan and Ehsaan Noorani. Also, the tunes are shown getting more infectious as per the stage is set.
The film ‘Mirzya’ is a movie for everyone, but especially for those who get influenced by reading the Romeo Juliet Story. The story is flooded with a plethora of polo scenes. Still, the movie is a period romance showing a feeling of an old school.`
