Kangana Ranaut recently gave an inflammatory remark about India’s independence. According to her, India got its independence in 2014 and not in 1947. Singer Vishal Dadlini tried to remind her with all the freedom struggle done by freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh and more.

Vishal Dadlani took an indirect jab on Kangana Ranaut by asking what she feels about all the struggle that our freedom fighters performed. Kangana’s remark on India’s independence is progressing like a fire in the jungle.

In order to make Kangana understand the real picture of India’s independence, Dadlani talked about the contribution of all those freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh who fought for the nation till their last breath.

Kangana gave those comments during a recent media interaction where a plethora of media groups were present. She was interviewed at a function organized by Times Now, right after she was felicitated by the Padma Shri award by the Indian government.

Dadlani took to his social media handle to share a picture of himself wearing T-shirt emblazoned displaying the face of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. This is what he posted, “Remind the lady who said our Independence was ‘bheekh,’” he wrote. Kangana is known for making inflammatory statements on social media. Her repeated disregard for Twitter’s abuse and hate speech policies were cited by the platform as grounds for her permanent suspension.

He added, “The man on my t-shirt is Shaheed Sardar Bhagat Singh, atheist, poet philosopher, Freedom Fighter, son of India, and son of a Farmer. He gave his life for our freedom, for India’s Independence at age 23, and went to the gallows with a smile and a song on his lips. Remind her of him, of Sukhdev, of Rajguru, of Ashfaqullah, and all the many thousands of others who refused to bow, refused to beg. Remind her politely, but strongly, so she never again dares to forget.”

Kangana Ranaut’s comments are being widely condemned by various politicians representing various spectrum. On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut has offered to return the award if proven wrong.

After Kangana’s comments proved a disaster for many, this is what she has to say in reply, “Everything is very clearly mentioned in the same interview 1857 first collective fight for freedom… along with sacrifice of greats like Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Laxmibai and Veer Savarkar ji. 1857 I know but which war took place in 1947 I am not aware, if someone can bring to my awareness I will give back my Padma Shri and apologise also… please help me with this.”
