You might like the crime thriller movie Paatal Lok streaming on Amazon Prime. But now, the film has got into trouble after both Anushka Sharma and Amazon Prime videos got the notice from the court in response to a petition filed against the film’s screening.
It clearly states that there is no reason why the film should not be banned, especially when it defames the entire Sikh community.
It all happened after the honorable bench of Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi issued the notice of motion to the Union of India along with as many as 15 other respondents. Also Read: John Cena Pays A Heart Touching Tribute To Sushant Singh Rajput
It clearly states that the film should be banned as it defames the Sikh community.
Ever since Paatal Lok started streaming on Amazon Prime, it surrounded with so many controversies at the same time. It’s not just the case of defaming Sikh community but many more issues as well.
In the past, Paatal Lok was objected for some more issues like eating beef in front of the goddess photo, racist slur, Hindus lynching Dalits, promoting Hindu Phobia and like that.
As per Gurdeepinder Singh Dhillon, who challenged the authenticity of some of the scenes in Paatal Lok, he registered his strong objections against the episode number three.
This is what Dhillon who is also the petitioner clarified in front of the court, “The respondents have purposely and maliciously within intent of creating communal disharmony and caste-based clashes have shown two communities in a bad light,”
Prior to all of the above, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who happens to be the president of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and former Akali Dal MLA had demanded that the film should be banned as it maligns the communal harmony. While addressing the rape scene in the web series, he registered his dissatisfaction and said, “Sikhs are Saviors of women. The whole world recognizes Sikhs for their Sewa and Humanity but shame on @AnushkaSharma @PrimeVideoIN for showing Sikhs as Rapists”.
On the other hand, it looks like the makers are in the favour of making another season of Paatal Lok series, especially after the kind of appreciation they have got from the audience.
As per Anushka Sharma, there is a possibility that the audience get to watch the Paatal Lok season 2 in the future.
