Raazi box office collection day 9– As Meghna Gulzar’s heart wrenching spy thriller slowly inches towards the unbelievable Rs 100 crore mark, do you still feel mystified about its performance like a plethora of critics and trade experts, who earlier predicted that Raazi just had the potential to perform well unlike many other spy thrillers?
Well, this is something nobody had expected that Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt starrer is soon going to create waves at the box office. As you see, in a span of 9 days, it has crossed Rs 68.88 crore and nowhere seems stoppable.
You might be wondering about the reasons why it is being liked to such a great extent. Well, the reasons are many but the prime reason is being the word of mouth.
Apart from a great story niche and sturdy performances by Alia Bhatt and Vivek Kaushal, the newly released spy thriller is lucky to have a strong word of mouth. And this is one of the main reasons why the movie is declared successful in getting an all time boost from the audience.
Raazi stars Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt in their lead roles. The story is based on a real life happening as the movie plot is taken from the novel written by Harinder Sikka titled ‘Calling Sehmat’. The movie stars Alia, who is playing the role of a Kashmiri girl (Sehmat) and later gets married in Pakistan.
As soon as she ties the knot, she starts spying in the country and passes all the secret information back to the Indian military agencies.
The movie has been successful generating some great appreciation both from the audience and the critics. After the haul of 9 days, the newly released box office thriller has managed to collect Rs 68.88 crore at the domestic box office. The figures are further expected to mount high to make it cross well over the Rs 100 crore mark.
Raazi box office collection witnessed a huge surge on its second weekend when it was declared successful earning Rs 7.54 crore at the box office. Well known trade expert Taran Adarsh wrote on his twitter handle “Raazi continues to outperform and shows a solid and unstoppable growth at the box office.
It has recorded almost 59% growth on May 25 by surpassing the presence of a great Hollywood flick Avengers Infinity War that was performing great in both the domestic as well as international markets. The film continues to make its mark after facing stiff competition from another Hollywood flick- Deadpool 2“.
Raazi box office collection day 9- Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt Film has become the box office paradise
The film is not only doing well at the domestic market but is equally doing well in the international market as well.
Until last Friday, the spy thriller has managed to collect Rs 21.36 crore that stood as high as Rs 88.24 crore, after collecting the overall figures till date. With such an overwhelming figure, the movie is still going high and doing a great business at the box office.
What looks like the most interesting fact about the film in terms of audience’s perspective is that everybody likes the film’s concept. As you know, it is based on a true story and relates to the 1971’s Ino-Pak war, Raazi essentially revolves around the character of Sehmat, who later becomes a spy and starts working for India by concealing secret information from Pakistan and supplying it back to the Indian agencies.
The film further depicts how Sehmat is able to do all this after getting married to Iqbal (a Pakistan based military officer). The film is largely praised by millions, mainly due to its content, especially after the obvious portrayal of nationalism.
And this is what the director Meghna Gulzar also feels the same. After interacting with a news agency, she says “They are also human and are just like us. We never want to degrade them at any extent by showing ourselves great. All we want for ourselves is to be calm follow truth and simplicity. And for that, we don’t need any sort of propaganda in any way.
On the other hand, Vicky Kaushla also commented on his character Iqbal. He said “I like the beauty of the role as one would never be able to predict his personality just like any other Pakistani guy, who at the same time is also an army man”.
The film also stars others including Sony Razdan, Shishir Sharma, Kanwaljjeet Singh, among others.
