The cyclone has damaged almost everything that came in front of it. As it was earlier predicted, the cyclone actually devastated the major parts of Mumbai with so many people lost their lives.
This is what Boney Kapoor has to say after the sets was devastated completely by the cyclone, “The sets have been completely damaged and I will be rebuilding it for the third time”.
He further clarified after he was asked what happened to the set on earlier two occasions, “We had to dismantle the set for the first time when the first lockdown happened, we had to reconstruct the set again and if the lockdown had not happened we would’ve completed the shooting of the film.”
So far, Boney has invested Rs 22 crore in the overall construction of the sets. Now, he has to shell out another Rs 7 crore to revamp it.
And this is what he rues, “The entire set is gone except the pitch. Though the pitch, too, has suffered some damage, the curator has assured us that he will manage to salvage it. But we have already incurred an expense of Rs 30cr and work is still pending,” Boney sighs.
Right now, the film maker is waiting to act as per the situation. He has instructed artists to rebuild the sets and be ready to commence the shooting once the government allows the film maker to shoot films.
Take a look what he said when asked to comment about the hybrid release of the film, “My films are for theatres and we have already started the post-production of the film and are aiming to release it in cinema halls”.
Please note that Maidaan happens to be a sports biographical drama starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role. He’s going to play the role of a football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
