Popular music composer AR Rahman has added another feather in his cap. The Oscar winning music composer has been chosen as the brand ambassador of the BAFTA Breakthrough initiative to represent India. When he was contacted for his feedback, he disclosed that he’s feeling very happy with the new responsibility to work with BAFTA.
This is what AR Rahman reciprocated with the news agency, “I am happy to be working with BAFTA to discover some of the amazing talent that India has to offer in film, games and television. This is a unique opportunity for promising artistes to be supported by a world renowned organization, to not only make connections with other talented creative across the world but to be mentored by BAFTA winners and nominees.”
The above initiative taken by the authorities is basically going to be a talent hunt in which they will choose and nurture 5 talents working in different fields like games, movies, television and more.
And here comes the role of BAFTA which is also known as British Academy of Film and Television Arts. They will choose the most talented individuals in their respective fields and will then be promoted as BAFTA Breakthrough artists.

Regarding the work front, AR Rahman is currently composing the music for Atrangi Re featuring Dhanush in the lead role. The film is to be directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu starring many renowned artists including Mirnalini Ravi, Srinidhi Shetty, KS Ravikumar, Irfan Pathan and Robo Shankar.
