Hollywood star Amy Schumer is all set to receive the comedy person of the year trophy as for Laughs has unleashed the star power for the upcoming JFL Awards 2022.
Among the recipients of awards, Schumer is going to be felicitated with the top most award in Montreal after bringing for Amy Schumer: Whore Tour to Just for Laughs at Place des Arts.
Another recipient is Hasan Minhaj, who is a renowned comedian who started his professional journey in 2014 as a Just for Laughs New Face. Now, he will receive the award in the category of stand up comedian. He will be also hosting his most popular arena show in Montreal.
Among other recipients, the name of Taylor Tomlinson is also being raised who’s led by Howie and ICM Mandel. Just for Laughs has named her to be the comedy breakout star 2022.
Jerrod Carmichael, who represents a New Faces cohort in 2011, is all set to receive the comedy special of the year award. He is expected to receive the award for HBO special Rothaniel.
nother update is coming from Just for Laughs. As per the update, it will also hold the keynote addresses by Neal Brennan, who’s an on-air correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Trevor Noah and Amanda Seales.
This year, the festival is returning with all the energy as the ceremony will take place physically after the two year haul due to pandemic. It will run from July 13 to July 31.
