Alyssa Healy Named ‘Player of the Tournament’ At ICC Women’s World Cup 2022

Alyssa Healy who’s a well known Australian wicketkeeper has been named as the ‘Player of the Tournament‘ at ICC Women’s World Cup 2022. She was honored by the ICC after her team registered a 71 run victory over England at the prestigious Women’s World Cup final that was held in Christchurch on Sunday.

With the felicitation given to Healy by the ICC at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022, she joined the bandwagon of some others like Karen Rolton (2005), England’s Claire Taylor (2009), England’s Tammy Beaumont (2017), New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (2013) among others who have won the prestigious award.

With the haul of 509 runs on scoreboard, the wicketkeeper-batter managed to score more runs as compared to any other player in New Zealand.

The data says it all. The 32 year old Alyssa Healy scored an average of 56.55 with bat. At the same time she also contributed for the dismissals of eight players as a wicketkeeper.

Alyssa Healy was felicitated with the award by a panel of 6 people that included the names of commentators Natalie Germanos, Nasser Hussain and Natalie Germanos.
