Ram Madhvani’s web series The Waking of a Nation began streaming on Sony LIV today. Featuring Taaruk Raina in the lead, the series focuses on the legal case that examines the conspiracy behind the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919.
In a surprising turn, the upcoming film Kesari 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, featuring Ananya Panday, R. Madhavan, and Akshay Kumar is also based on the same storyline.

During an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Madhvani addressed the matter, saying, “We were aware of it. Four years ago, we found out that Akshay and Dharma were making this film with Ananya Panday and Madhavan.
We knew it was about a court case in London. While it’s not exactly the same, it does focus on Jallianwala Bagh. I’ve heard it’s a good film, based on feedback from those who’ve seen it.”
Madhvani conveyed his wishes for Kesari 2 to succeed, stating, “I truly wish them all the success. We’re all working to present our creations, and we understand how challenging it is to produce something and share it. I honestly hope their film does well, and we’re all supporting them.
Kesi 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, is produced by Leo Media Collective, Cape of Good Films, and Dharma Productions.
