Actually, Raees was fortunate to get a marvelous launch pad which was missing in case of its box office rival. Well, Rahul Dholakia’s creation starring ShahRukh as a bootlegger was fortunate to start its box office journey at a sprint with almost 80% occupancy on the silver screen. However, Kaabil got a much slower start (as expected) with as low as 40% screenings. Raees released on more than 2700 screens, kaabil got only 2200 screens initially. But later, the film got additional 200 screens in the second phase (week).
Again, there are certain things that clicked in Hrithik Roshan’s favor like his film’s release in Pakistan. On the other hand, SRK’s Raees was banned for the reason of negative portrayal of the Muslim community.
