Aegon Targaryen
By the end of the Battle at Rook’s Rest, Aegon’s condition looked dire, but his fate remained uncertain and make us think if he had sustained severe injuries.
After the Aemond’s order for Vhagar to breathe fire during the clash with Rhaenys and Meleys, Aegon and his dragon, Sunfyre, plummeted from the skies..
This has not been give in the book where Aegon dies, so it’s highly unlikely that writers are expected take such a step and end his story now. Also, his future as King of the Seven Kingdoms looks uncertain, and he faces a daunting path to recovery at the very least.
Aemond Targaryen
Aemond, can easily deflect blame for Aegon’s fate by claiming he was trying to protect his brother, especially now that Rhaenys, the sole witness, has now been deceased.
On the other hand, Aemond’s actions in the air led to Aegon’s downfall. If Criston or others suspect Aemond of incapacitating Aegon, it could spell lethal consequences for Aemond upon their return to King’s Landing.
Now, on the Dragonstone side, Rhaenyra along with her supporters might be going angry after they suspect that Aemond has been taken down.
Criston Cole
It looks like there’s no concrete evidence that Ser Criston is in jeopardy, so it might be wishful thinking, but please, remove him from the council room. While he can claim a victory at Rook’s Rest, it wasn’t particularly impressive.
At the same time, the king that he’s looking forward to protect was nearly burned alive, many soldiers perished, and dragons did much of the fighting.
