Padmaavat box office collection day 1 After witnessing such a huge protest all over, the most controversial film of the year 2018 was finally released on January 25, 2018.

Padmavat is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and stars Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. As per the leading film critic and biz analyst, Taran Adarsh, the film is not only running well in the theatres well but also doing a great business.

Well, if we take a look in the past, Bhansali’s Padmavat has shaken the entire country with loud protests, violence by different groups of people who belonged to the royal family either directly or indirectly.

It’s been going on from the time the film had its first shoot in Jaipur. The entire crew members and supporting staff along with Bhansali were attacked and warned by them not to screen the film in any way as it hurt their sentiments.

From the starting, they were protesting that some part of the film is actually not being shown as per the real happenings. It’s just being reproduced as per the wishes of the director and is being presented to the audience without confirming the facts.

Now, even after the widespread protests by these so called fringe elements in Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, Padmavat had successfully released in the theatres on January 25, 2018 and in fact, did a good business by collecting Rs 19 Crore on the opening day itself.

As you know, the opulent period film was earlier scheduled to be released on December 1, 2017 but failed to do so in the middle of severe controversies.

All these disputes were propagated heavily due to the distortion of actual facts. But now, it seems that Padmavat box office collection didn’t scumble to pressure in any way, and is currently performing well both in terms of collection and audience’s perception.

As per Adarsh, Padmavat has shown decent performance on the opening day by collecting Rs 19 Crore despite the widespread vandalism. So, is it going to be good sign for the movie? Well, for that, you need to wait and watch how the film performs.

Another fact that is being highlighted here that talks about the paid preview of the film on Wednesday. Our trade analyst tweeted earlier that says the film to collect Rs 5 Crore in previews screenings on Wednesday.

Occupancy of Padmavat on day 1

Well, talking about the occupancy rate on the first day of the release of Padmavat, 50-60% of occupancy was observed. But overall experience of the film continued to remain different at different places. For example, in some parts of the country, the movie had been refused while the other pockets were reported house full (in metro cities).

Advance booking of the film affected

“At the end of the day, viewers are only looking to be entertained and they would avoid getting into a ruckus, as much as possible. Therefore, the advance bookings of Padmaavat have also been affected in that regard.

As per the views of another film critic Girish Johar, “viewers not only want to get entertained but would also avoid going into any kind of conflict whatsoever. And this has affected the advance booking of Padmavat.

As a whole, the response regarding Padmavat box office collection day 1 is mixed. In some cities, you can see the bookings going on with ease, while in others; you can hardly find any interest among people in the advance bookings”.

Girish had also asserted that the film would have received a staggering Rs 25 Crore if the situation had been under control. As per the poll conducted by a leading media channel, close to 72% people who were surveyed looked interested to watch Padmavat.
