His portrayal of Mr. Blond in Quentin Tarantino’s 1992 debut film Reservoir Dogs made Madsen a favorite among cult film lovers. He passed away in Malibu following cardiac arrest, his manager Ron Smith told NBC News.

“Michael had a strong presence in independent cinema, with upcoming films such as Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives,” they wrote. “He was also working on a poetry book titled Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems. Michael Madsen’s contributions to Hollywood were immense, and he’ll be missed by many.”
