It seems we’re edging closer to revisiting the world of Pandora. Joel David Moore, known for his memorable role in Avatar, took to Instagram to share fresh snaps from the production in New Zealand, reminiscing about his involvement with the franchise.
Moore, who played Norm Spellman in both 2009’s Avatar and 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, is likely referring to Avatar 4 in his production update.
Filming for Avatar 4 had already begun and was slated to resume earlier this year right after the 2023 Hollywood strikes.

This is what Moore shared on Instagram, “Heading back to Wellington NZ is always so nostalgic.” Hr continued stating, “For nearly two decades, I’ve been a part of this franchise, returning to work alongside familiar faces and friends, dedicated to putting in the hard work. It’s become like a second home to me. While our family has expanded, our commitment to the mission remains steadfast. I’m thankful for my #Avatar family and eagerly anticipate sharing what’s next!”
What Will Avatar 3 Be About?
Avatar 3 will most likely continue the story line from The Way of Water and is also expected to introduce a new Na’vi clan known as the “Ash People,” who reside in volcanoes. As disclosed by The Way of Water’s cast to ComicBook late last year, the possibilities for exploration in Avatar 3 are incredibly exciting.
“In 2015, I remember pushing my pregnant wife,” franchise star Sam Worthington recalled. “We were in a room surrounded by visuals that outlined this family story across a saga of multiple films. At that time, it wasn’t just about making movies.”
“It looked as if Jim Cameron was sharing a campfire story with us,” Sam Worthington recalled. “At that time, with my wife expecting, the prospect of embarking on a family adventure felt oddly coincidental. The idea of potentially telling the complete saga was thrilling.”
Is There Going to Be Avatar 4?
Earlier, the makers revealed that there could be as many as 5 sequels of Avatar.
The director James Cameron has indicated that he has already filmed a great amount of footage for the upcoming Avatar 4. While specifics about the sequel’s story line remain undisclosed, indications suggest it could exceed expectations.
