The idea of retirement doesn’t appeal to Kevin Costner. At 70, the Yellowstone actor told People that he remains focused on future projects, saying, “I don’t even think about retiring—I just move on to what sparks my imagination next.”
Costner made it clear that he isn’t guided by external pressures. “It’s imagination that shapes my decisions, not someone telling me what to do,” he explained. “Everyone’s journey is different.”
Discussing his journey, Costner shared, “I’ve been lucky, no doubt. I’d like to believe I earned it, but not everyone’s success comes the same way.”

Kevin Costner, a California native born in 1955, is the father of seven children from two marriages and one previous relationship. His first marriage to Cindy Silva brought him three kids, Annie, Lily, and Joe.
He has a son, Liam, with Bridget Rooney. He later married Christine Baumgartner, with whom he shares three children. The couple divorced in 2024.
