Renowned Hollywood star Dakota Johnson looks all set to play the role of ‘Madam Web’. With that she will make her entry confirmed into the world of super heroes.
The above projects looks exciting as it is coming directly from Sony Pictures which is plotting a number of other projects to expand its Spider-Man universe. It’s dubbed as Sony Universe of Marvel Characters.
As per a report published on The Hollywood Reporter, Dakota Johnson is currently in talks with the makers.
The film is to be directed by SJ Clarkson. The script is written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. If the entire schedule goes as per planned, Dakota will create history by becoming the first female superhero in the Sony Spider Verse.
Dakota Johnson to Play ‘Madame Web’
Madame Web is basically a clairvoyant mutant who’s well versed in predicting the future of Spider-themed superheroes. The film is being mentored by Peter Parker along with a number of multiple generation heroes.
As per an update published in Deadline, the character of Dakota Johnson may look like Sony’s version of Doctor Strange. But in Marvel Comics, she is often seen playing the role of an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis.
Soon after that she was connected to a life support system that looked exactly as ‘Spider Web’. Considering her age and other medical conditions, she never fought any villain like elderly woman with myasthenia gravis.
As per an update, Dakota Johnson was first depicted as an elderly woman suffering from Mysthenia Gravis. Due to this, she was well connected life support system which looked quite similar to spider web.
Now, due to her present age and some other medical conditions, she didn’t fight the role of villains. Instead, the actress used her psychic sensory powers to make a sense.
It was in 1980s when the above character was introduced. To be precise, it was created in 1980s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man No. 210’ comics.
At present, Sony has become the only channel which has Sony Universe of Marvel Characters. It has released some films in the recent past including Let There Be Carnage’ (2020).
Another film titled ‘Morbious’ is penned by Sharpless and Sazama. The film is slated to release globally in April. Apart from the above, Sony is also currently in discussion for ‘Kraven the Hunter’ with star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Dakota Johnson was last featured in Maggie Gyllenhaal directed film titled ‘The Lost Daughter’.
