Chris Hemsworth recently disclosed that makers were about to cast his brother Liam as Thor instead of him.
He was speaking during the promotion of the franchise Thor: Love and Thunder. In his interaction with the audience, he disclosed how close Liam was about to play the Mjolnir swinging character.
In the past, there are a number of projects explored the Multiverse, but it was not the case with Thor: Love and Thunder.
Hemsworth further disclosed that he wanted his brother to play the alternate version of Thor, especially if the movie ever goes to explore the multiverse.
This is what he said, “My little brother almost got cast as Thor. He was one of the first people who got right down to the wire on getting the part so, I don’t know, I could cross paths with him. That will be fun,” Chris said.
He was saying this because last month, he was expecting a call back from the makers after his audition. “I think my audition sucked. I think that was the response I got,” he said.
In the auditions, Chris couldn’t make it to the next round, his brother Liam then decided to pursue the gig and managed to make it down to the “last five people” to be considered for selection.
“They were like, ‘Look, he’s great, but he’s a bit young.’ My manager then said, ‘Well, he does have an older brother,’ which was me,” he explained, adding, “I came back in, re-auditioned a few times and just had a different attitude.
From here, Chris Hemsworth straightaway went on to join the first Thor movie premiering back in the year 2011. But Liam couldn’t get it as he debuted in ‘The Hunger Games’ (2012).
The franchise is currently registering stories of success having deep family ties for Hemsworth brothers. Chris and Liam’s older brother, Luke. They have featured in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ and ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
