Varun Dhawan is ready to entertain viewers with his high-octane film Baby John. Directed by Kalees, the eagerly awaited movie has sparked excitement among fans.

Speculation has been rife that the movie is a remake of the Tamil hit Theri. Addressing these rumors, Varun Dhawan clarified that Baby John is an “adaptation” rather than a “faithful remake.”

Varun Dhawan quite recently revealed why Theri director Atlee chose him for the project, while noting the adjustments made to the storyline and setting to create a fresh adaptation.

This is what he said, “You’ll notice that several frames and story perspectives are different. If someone comes in expecting a direct remake, they might be disappointed because this isn’t that. It’s an adaptation. We’re not shying away from that, but it leans more towards being an adaptation.”

Varun pointed out the approach the film takes, offering a modern perspective on parenting and focusing on the issue of women’s safety in India. He shared that the plot includes a significant case inspired by real-life events, and his character has been adjusted to fit this new storytelling style.

The original Tamil film Theri, released in 2016, starred Thalapathy Vijay and was directed by Atlee Kumar. With Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson in prominent roles, the movie became a huge hit.

Baby John brings a fresh twist to the tale, with a talented ensemble featuring Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav. The film also features exciting cameo appearances by Salman Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Sanya Malhotra, further fueling the buzz.

The Baby John trailer gives a glimpse into an emotional and intense story, highlighting the strong relationship between Varun’s character and his daughter. He plays a committed father who navigates the challenges of parenting while performig his role being a police officer.

In the trailer, Varun’s daughter humorously remarks that calling him “baby” doesn’t mean he’s actually one! The preview also hints at a romantic subplot with Keerthy Suresh and features emotional moments, with appearances from Sanya Malhotra and Wamiqa Gabbi, adding more depth to the story.

Jackie Shroff takes center stage as the menacing antagonist, leaving a lasting impact with his intense portrayal. The trailer culminates in a dramatic moment where Varun’s character, driven by the need to protect his daughter, unleashes his full wrath.
