Following Ingrid Andress’ viral rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the MLB Home Run Derby, that received negative attention, the country singer shared a heartfelt health update

It all happened on July 16—the day after her unusually sub-par performance of the national anthem in Arlington, Texas—the 32-year-old singer took to social media to explain what actually happened.

“I’m not going to sugarcoat it, I was drunk last night. I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need,” she wrote on Facebook. “That wasn’t me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love for that performance. I’ll keep you updated on rehab—I hear it’s really fun.”

While making their individual comments, fans started showering their valuable support for Andress, with one commenting, “I respect your bravery and honesty. Sending love and healing vibes your way.”

There was another Facebook user who commented, “Well done on owning up so fast. We all walk through tough times. People are quick to judge, but you’re very courageous. Count me as one of your fans standing by you.”

It all happened on July 15 when the Grammy-nominated artist got widespread criticism after her national anthem performance. Once it happened, a series of her video clips went viral on different social media platforms. Once this happened, viewers started comparing to Fergie’s rendition at NBA All-Star Game (2018).
