Ever since the dream project of Mani Ratnam titled Ponniyin Selvan was finalized, there was a lot of excitement among the makers.
As per the earlier reports that came in this regard, it came to light that the first phase of the shooting will be commenced in Thailand and both the director along with the entire cast had to search for a suitable place in Thailand to start the first phase of the shoot.
Now, with each passing day, the shooting of the ongoing project is taking a new shape. It all happened when the first phase of the shooting of the upcoming film started in early December 2019.
At the moment, the first phase of the shooting is being currently progressed with Jayam Ravi and Karthi who are going to be featured as Arul Mozhi Varman and Vanthiya Thevan respectively.
Apart from the above names, there are some more who will be a part of the shooting including Riaz Khan, Jayaram, Mohan Raman and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
As you can see, the shooting of the film is speeding ahead at a fast pace in Thailand with many renowned industry stars taking part. As per the latest Bollywood news, the entire shooting will get wrapped up within a span of 3 months.
At the moment, the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film is divided into three phases. Right now, the first phase is about to complete and the makers have already entered into the second phase itself. For the second phase shooting, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Chiyaan Vikram look all set to join the team.

Second Phase of Ponniyin Selvan Shooting Is All Set to Commence
Please note that Ponniyin Selvan is one of the upcoming films of Mani Ratnam that has already garnered so much hype even before its release. The film is loaded with leading star cast from Tamil and Bollywood film stars. The story of this film is written by Kalki which is based on the epic novel by the same name.
As per the current updates, Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram are all set to join the second phase of the shooting very soon. They will be playing the role of Nandhini and Aditya Karikala Cholan respectively.
The upcoming Tamil language film is to be produced by Lyca Productions. The music of the film will be composed by AR Rehman. Brinda will be the choreographer.
