As per a report published by The Hollywood Reporter, Walker Scobell is known to have grabbed the role in Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It all happened in the month of January when Disney+ came forward to give series order to Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

The above series basically revolves around a 12 year old boy who comes to know that he’s a demigod. He comes to know about his recently acquired supernatural power of a demigod. It all happens when the sky god named Zeus scolds him of stealing his master lightning bolt.

As per the latest news published in this regard, the production of this series from Disney 20th Television is expected to commence from upcoming summers.

The casting news was first shared by the executive producer named Rick Riordan who said, “Walker Scobell is an incredibly talented young man who blew us away with his audition tapes for the role of Percy. Many of you recently discovered how great Walker is when you watched his movie The Adam Project, in which Walker lit up the screen as a younger version of Ryan Reynolds’ character. We were fortunate enough to audition Walker months before that movie came out, but the film only confirmed what we already knew about his talent. It was obvious to me and the rest of the team that Walker had the perfect mix of comedic timing, sweetness, rebelliousness, snark and heroism to embody our hero Percy Jackson.” he said.

Riordan further confirmed that Percy Jackson was actually in the development stage in the year 2020. But the show managed to grab the official confirmation earlier this year.

It’s also known that Disney+ also issued the official character breakdown of Percy that originally described it saying, “Percy Jackson is a smart and compassionate kid with a sharp sense of humor. He’s always seen himself as an outsider, in no small part because of how the world sees his ADHD and dyslexia. He’s impulsive and rambunctious and is quick to anger when things seem unfair to him. But beneath his cynicism is an affectionate son and loyal friend who just wants to do right by those he cares about. If only he could find a place where he fits in.” it said.

As per the sources, the upcoming series plot will be written in the association of Jon Steinberg and Riordan. While James Bobin is going to direct the show.

At the same time, Dan Shotz long with his producing partner named Steinberg will be overseeing and serving as executive producers alongside some others like D.J. Goldberg, Jeremy Bell, Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Bert Salke, Rebecca Riordan, Rick Riordan and Bobin.

The Percy Jackson book series basically comprises of The Last Olympian, The Battle of the Labyrinth, The Titan’s Curse, The Sea of Monsters along with The Lightning Thief.

On the professional front, Walker Scobell made his debut with his Netflix film titled The Adam Project. It starred Catherine Keener, Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldaña, Mark Ruffalo and Ryan Reynolds in their respective pivotal roles.

He’s expected to star with Jesse Williams, Michael Peña and Owen Wilson in the upcoming action film titled Secret Headquarters which is all set to release on August 5, 2022.
