Contrary to the above, Bollywoodnewsflash has come to know a few surprising facts about the release of Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan that was earlier slated to release in theatres. But now, it seems that they have opted to release it directly on Amazon Prime Video.
As per the latest Bollywood news, we have learnt that Toofan was earlier scheduled to hit theatres last year in the month of September. In the course of events, producer and the director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra opted to release the much awaiting film directly on the OTT platform instead of releasing in theatres. And so, it looks certain that Farhan Akhtar starring Toofan will be released on Amazon Prime Video.

The source not only gave a confirmation of the film releasing on OTT platform, it also revealed the reason behind this. Well, the only reason that came out is that makers don’t want to release the film in theatres as they are currently making unexpected business. They clarified that due to the theatres are still not making a nice business, they feel reluctant to release their film until things go back to normal. The makers also think that releasing the film in theatre will somehow detrimental to business.

Releasing a film in an uncertain atmosphere like this is detrimental to business. But on the other hand, opting for a direct to OTT release, a filmmaker is assured of a certain sum that will cover his initial expense. Given this situation it is obvious why filmmakers still prefer to release their films on OTT platforms over theatres.”
