It happened in late October when Henry Cavill announced that he won’t be able to return to the Netflix series The Witcher. But now, Lauren Hissrich has announced that she has “heroic send-off” planned for the upcoming action.
This is what she has to say, “Henry has given so much to the show and so we want to honor that appropriately,” Hissrich told Entertainment Weekly. “What is so interesting is that season 3, to me, is the closest thing that we’ve done as a one-to-one adaptation of the books,” She says.
She further noted, “Obviously, we can’t do every page, but Time of Contempt gave us so many big action events, plot points, defining character moments, huge reveals of a big bad. There’s so much to do that we were able to stick really, really closely with the books.” She said.

“Geralt’s big turn is about giving up neutrality and doing anything that he has to do to get to Ciri,” the writer-producer continued. “And to me, it’s the most heroic sendoff that we could have, even though it wasn’t written to be that. Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in season 4. He’s a slightly different Geralt than we expected. Now, by the way, that’s an understatement.”
In October, the news came out in the middle when Cavill announced for the first time about his exit from ‘The Witcher’ series. It’s when Cavill informed that he would return as Superman in the DC superhero movies.
“As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men,” he said at the time. “Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”
After all these actions were being taken, it was learnt that Cavill had a meeting with Peter Safran and James Gunn ( DC film’s newly appointed heads). The meeting finally ended with the announcement that the actor won’t be returning as the iconic Superman.
In addition to the above, it has been learnt that Gunn is currently making a film in the earlier days of the Man of Steel which is not to be portrayed by Cavill.
Now, after the exit of Cavill, Liam Hemsworth will grab the role of Geralt of Rivia. The new Witcher starting Seson 4, this is what showrunner stated, “Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in season 4. He’s a slightly different Geralt than we expected. Now, by the way, that’s an understatement.”
Interestingly, they also have a prequel series with The Witcher: Blood Origin.
