Matt Reeves directorial ‘The Bateman’ has finally rolled out for its grand world premiere at the Lincoln Center in New York on Tuesday evening.
The film has seen lots of delays in the past due to various reasons. And now, it seems that the project will go ahead as per the latest schedule.
It’s reported that all other characters of the film including Zoe Kravitz, Robert Pattinson and others attended the grand event. But the director Mat Reeves couldn’t attend the function as he was down after testing positive for COVID-19.
After the makers introduced the star cast on to the stage, Reeves himself came forward to narrate the reason of his absence from the event. He chatted through a video call just ahead of the screening of the film, as reported by variety.com.

This is what Reeves stated, “We were taking the film around and doing the press tour. Despite being double-vaccinated and boostered, I got Covid,” he said.
He further added, “The good news is that I’m healthy, I’m good. But I’m not with you. It’s a great heartbreak for me because this movie means so much to me. It was a five-year journey for me and I’m really excited that we’re sharing it with you tonight.”
Reeves continued saying, “I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, the incredible crew that we made this movie with. They are such incredible craftsmen, artists. (It’s) the best crew that we ever worked with. I know that so many of you are there tonight. I’m so sad that I’m not there with you.”
As per the latest update, The Batman will start its theatrical run as per schedule. It’s slated to begin preview screenings from Thursday evening onward.
As Warner Bros. tentpole is keen to target a massive opening this weekend, they are about to project a 3-day haul in the range of $100 million and $125 million.
