Reema Lagoo death has made the entire Bollywood in a deep shock and grief. The veteran actor took her last breath on Thursday (May 17, 2017). She was admitted to the famous Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, Mumbai after suffering from a severe cardiac arrest on early Thursday but expired around 3:15 am.
There are no words to explain her persona except by saying that she was a great actress who served the industry for many decades. Reema was arguably the best and favorite mother for most eminent film stars. In fact, she played the role of their mother on many occasions. After the sad demise of the actress broke, a number of Bollywood personalities including Rakesh Bedi, Aamir Khan, Kajol, ShahRukh Khan visited her residence to pay their last respects. She was 59.
Among celebrities who were spotted giving their condolences to the great veteran actress was Mahesh Manjrekar. He’s a noted film director and is known to have worked with Reema on a number of projects. Well, this is only the one side of the story.
The late actress has, in fact, played a loving mother’s role in memorable films with some all time great actors like Salman Khan and Sanja Dutt. The film Vaastav is one such great film where the veteran actress was featured playing the role of the mother of Sanjay Dutt. In the same ways, there is a plethora of other movies where Reema Lagoo can be seen doing full justice to her role. Among other celebrities, Mahesh Bhatt (film director) also reached to pay his condolences on Reema Lagoo death.

Aamir Khan shared the moment of grief and said “as soon as we came to know about the death of Reema Lagoo, we couldn’t digest the news and are still in shock. We also knew that she was not suffering from any major ailment and no one could believe the sudden and sad demise of the great actress”.
Slowly and steadily, a number of theatre and Bollywood personalities braved the occasion to pay their last respects. Sachin Pilgaonkar who is a well known television personality, has worked with the veteran actress in some memorable TV shows including Tu Tu Main Main was spotted to reach the crematorium.
Kajol (film actress) was also present to pay her last respect to the departing soul. Kajol had worked with Reema in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (a 1998 musical blockbuster). The funeral took place just after 2.30 pm.
Rishi Kapoor, who was recently in the news after lashing out at all the new and emerging cine stars for skipping the funeral of late Vinod Khanna was also seen paying his last respects on Reema Lagoo death.
Reema started her film career from Marathi theatre and then switched to play the character of the mother in a number of Bollywood films. She performed the role of mother to famous Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit and others.
The rituals of last rites were performed by Reema’s daughter- Mrunmayee that lasted till 3.30 pm.
