Raveena Tandon Shares Laughs About Sanjay Dutt at ‘Punjabi Munde’ Launch

The launch of the song ‘Punjabi Munde’ from Ghudchadi in Mumbai saw attendance from Parth Samthaan, Khushalii Kumar, Aruna Irani, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, singer-composer Sukhbir, and producer Nidhi Dutta. Raveena Tandon’s opening speech was a standout moment of the event.

Raveena Tandon started her speech by saying, “In front of Aruna ji, we are all just a drop in the ocean. She is the true OG! She has worked with my father, Ravi Tandon, in many films. One of my favorite songs is ‘Sapna Mera Toot Gaya’ from Khel Khel Mein (1975). From Caravan (1971) to today, her journey continues and will always go on!”

This is what the actress added, “It’s a huge privilege for me to work with Nidhi Dutta, the daughter of my favorite director J P Dutta. I was in his films like Kshatriya (1993). Now, I get to work with my son-in-law, Binnoy!”

She added, “Parth and Khushalii have been amazing. Sukhbir, we’re grateful for this fantastic song in our film.”

She then inquired, “Ganya kahan gaya?” referring to Ganesh Acharya, who had to leave early due to health issues. Raveena also called on writer Deepak Kapur Bhardwaj, noting, “When Deepak and Binnoy presented the script to me, I was convinced right from the beginning.” She complimented actress Bindiya, calling her “my absolute favorite woman on this planet.”

To everyone’s amusement, Raveena then joked about her long-time co-star Sanjay Dutt, saying, “Finally, a shoutout to my ‘forever’ co-star Sanjay Dutt (smiles). When the Ghudchadi trailer dropped, I saw a meme that said, ‘Ramika Sen and Adhira in a parallel universe’!” She playfully referenced their roles in KGF – Chapter 2 (2022), where Raveena played India’s Prime Minister and Sanjay Dutt was the menacing antagonist.

She wrapped up by saying, “Having collaborated with Sanjay Dutt on several films, I’m thankful for the media’s ongoing support. I’m confident that you’ll enjoy this film—it’s crafted for families, by a family.”

Ghudchadi is set to premiere on JioCinema on August 9.
