Munjya, a well known horror comedy has now turned into a blockbuster after the film is performing so well at the box office.
To be precise, Munjya has collected over Rs 100 crore in a span of just 17 days. Maddock Films, which is the production house shared on Instagram, “Munjya roars with laughter and fear to reach 100 Cr! Thank you for an unforgettable third weekend. As per official data shared by the production company, the film has grossed more than Rs 103 crore in total, with a net collection reported at Rs 87.35 crore.
It started impressively with a Rs 4 crore opening on the first day and went on to earn Rs 36.50 crore in its debut week. Building on this momentum, the film garnered Rs 32 crore in its 2nd week.
Aditya Sarpotdar is credited to direct Munjya. The horror comedy features Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, and Sathyaraj. The film is set in the scenic Konkan region of Maharashtra and is richly infused with Marathi folklore. It unfolds the story of the legendary Munjya creature and its transformative effect on Bittu’s life, played by Abhay Verma, recognized for his role in The Family Man.
Munjya is Maddock’s fourth horror-comedy, following the footsteps of Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya. Maddock is preparing to release Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao in the upcoming weeks. Sharvari previously discussed Munjya’s box office success, saying, “Munjya has made a remarkable start at the box office, and I’m ecstatic right now.
