As per Latest Hollywood News, Johnny Depp’s latest film as a director, Modi: Three Days On the Wing of Madness, was recently featured at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
In a press conference, he reflected on the nearly thirty years that have passed since his previous feature, The Brave, which came out in 1997 and faced significant criticism.
The film depicts a frenetic 72-hour period in World War I Paris, showcasing the artist Modigliani as he deals with “bombs, policemen, girlfriends, and critics in an increasingly desperate quest for a place to showcase his art.

When asked to draw parallels between his own experiences and those of the film’s main character, the bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani, Depp noted that both have had to navigate their struggles to find their place.

Depp appeared to reference his recent legal disputes with ex-wife Amber Heard, stating, “I believe everyone has faced various challenges… Perhaps yours didn’t become a televised soap opera, but we all endure our own experiences.”
The narrative takes place over a tense 72 hours in the life of bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani (Riccardo Scamarcio), as he navigates the chaos of war-torn Paris and its lively art scene in 1916.
Following a confrontation in an upscale restaurant, Modi is on the run from the police, grappling with the looming possibility of the end of his career and life in the City of Light.
Encouraged by his art dealer and friend, Leopold Zborowski (Stephen Graham), he decides to risk it all for a chance to meet American collector Maurice Gangnat (Al Pacino), who could potentially turn him from a struggling artist into a global icon with just one endorsement.
Depp mentioned that his recent directing experience was “infinitely more positive” than when he directed “The Brave,” a film he also acted in that faced harsh criticism and performed poorly with audiences upon its debut more than 25 years ago.
