The School of Film, Media, and Creative Arts (SoFMCA) will welcome its first group of students in August 2024. Its programs are crafted to deliver thorough training in different aspects of filmmaking and media production. This initiative aims to close the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry experience, preparing students for successful careers in these vibrant fields.
The Founder of Hombale Films, Mr. Vijay Kiragandur initially expressed a forward-thinking vision for RV University partnership. The RV University happens to be a leader in providing quality education.
He emphasized that this collaboration aims to nurture and empower the next generation of filmmakers and media professionals. Kiragandur sees this initiative as a groundbreaking effort to develop visionary storytellers who will shape the future of global entertainment.

The different sections as mentioned above are bound to provide a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Filmmaking, Film Studies, Media Studies, Animation and Visual Effects, Film, TV and OTT, as well as Film, Media, and Cultural Studies. Highlights include specialized programs in Direction for Professionals, aimed at upskilling current industry crew and aspiring professionals.
The curriculum encompasses extensive courses in Film Direction, Screenwriting, Editing, Cinematography, Sound Design, VFX, Film Production and Management, and Script Lab.
The partnership further offers internship opportunities of 2-3 months, along with job offers for exceptional final-year students, as well as potential sponsorship and funding for final-year student project films.
The educational experience will be enhanced through masterclasses led by distinguished artists, directors, and experienced technicians, providing students with valuable insights and mentorship from seasoned industry professionals.
