Just moments before showtime, Shakira’s San Antonio concert was suddenly postponed, while fans sweltered in the sun and recorded the chaos
Chaos erupted as Shakira’s San Antonio concert on Friday night was called off moments before it began, reportedly over structural problems at the Alamodome.
Social media was flooded with posts from concertgoers stuck in the heat outside the Alamodome. Hours before the postponement was confirmed, fans were already frustrated after being held outside without explanation.
Fans expressed anger online, with one writing, “After standing in line for over an hour in 32°C temperatures, people began fainting, and there was no response from either the Alamodome or Shakira’s team.”
Another described it as “the worst concert experience ever,” citing more than 90 minutes of waiting without entry and fans collapsing due to heat, reportedly because of stage-related problems.

Another attendee voiced their frustration on social media, asking, “What’s going on with @shakira’s team? Why are some concerts being canceled last minute due to structural concerns? Isn’t that something that should’ve been checked well in advance?”
Cancelling the concert 30 mins BEFORE the concert! Wow no mames! @shakira so unprofessional, we’re all here outside and spend money on travel/hotel. So disappointing, I can’t believe this!
