Diljit Dosanjh, who’s a renowned Punjabi singer currently on a multi-city tour, revealed during his Chandigarh show on Saturday night that he would refrain from holding further concerts in India until the government improves the nation’s concert infrastructure.
Diljit Dosanjh Takes Stand On India’s Concert Infrastructure: “No Shows Until Improvements Are Made”
In a video shared by fans, Diljit Dosanjh expressed his disappointment with the “lack of adequate” concert facilities in India.
Speaking to the audience, he remarked, “I want to urge the authorities to address the issue of India’s inadequate infrastructure for live events. This industry contributes substantial revenue and supports numerous livelihoods. It deserves more attention and improvement.”
Diljit Dosanjh mentioned, “I plan to design a stage setup where the audience surrounds it for a better concert experience.” He further emphasized, “I won’t perform here until the infrastructure improves. Instead of making things difficult for us, work on upgrading the facilities.”
Diljit Dosanjh’s concerts have faced backlash after reports of ticket resales at inflated prices, with some even suggesting the singer-actor’s involvement in ticket black-marketing.
Addressing these accusations, the Lover singer expressed his disappointment and clarified that artists have no control over such practices.
