In September 2024, Deepika Padukone and husband Ranveer Singh welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Dua.
Deepika has now shared how she is still settling into her role as a mother and figuring out how to balance her life with her new-born.
Deepika Padukone On Motherhood
On the opening day of WAVES 2025 in Mumbai on Thursday, Deepika Padukone, joined by Shah Rukh Khan, participated in a session where she discussed how motherhood has transformed her life.
On how motherhood has changed her, Deepika said, “I’m adjusting to this new life after becoming a mother. When you have a child, you become responsible for another person, and especially in my case, where I’ve always focused on my career and my personal goals, it’s a big transition. Suddenly, everything revolves around this little one who relies on me for every need.”
This is what she further stated, “Becoming a mother has always been my dream, and I’m loving every part of it. However, I’m still figuring out what this new phase of life is like for me. My child now comes before everything else, and I’m still in the process of finding my balance.”
Shah Rukh Khan also shared his thoughts on Deepika’s new role as a mother, stating, “I want to say something very personal, so I hope I’m not overstepping. But I honestly believe the role she will excel at the most, Inshallah, is that of a mother to her daughter, Dua. She’s going to be absolutely wonderful.”
Ranveer & Deepika Welcome Parenthood
The arrival of Dua on September 8, 2024, brought immense joy to the couple, who tied the knot in 2018. Last Diwali, they actually revealed her name, Dua Padukone Singh, alongside a beautiful message: “Dua, meaning a prayer, because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude.”
Ranveer is gearing up for some exciting roles, including Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film and Don 3, helmed by Farhan Akhtar.
Deepika, on the other hand, might be starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan in King, though she has yet to confirm her involvement. Her most recent film was Kalki 2898 AD, a sci-fi epic directed by Nag Ashwin.
