Deepika Padukone is one Bollywood actress who has spread her wings into Hollywood.
She has done a Hollywood project titled xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017). After completing this project, the actress announced another project last year in August as well.
It’s an international project which will be completed by her own production house. But Deepika is not influenced by the diversity in the West. She thinks there are so many opportunity available to work in Hollywood, but there doesn’t seem to be any kind of diversity involved.
Deepika has already given a few blockbuster movies in the past. In order to continue this momentum, she’s ready to try her luck in some other upcoming project which will be a cross-cultural romantic comedy.
The upcoming film will be created by her own production named K Production along with STX Global Corporations’ division STXfilms.
After sharing screen space in xXx with Vin Diesel, fans expected that she will be focusing her attention to Hollywood. But the actress couldn’t be seen doing other Hollywood projects.
Deepika Padukone was having an interaction with Vogue. This is what her opinion are regarding diversity of Hollywood, “Right now, the conversation around diversity in Hollywood is surface-level. The minute you have a Black or Asian actor, it’s considered ‘diverse casting’. But we have a long way to go before we start seeing substantial change. I feel like 80 per cent of the people in charge are still looking at inclusive casting as a box to be ticked. No doubt, there are some who are genuinely interested in turning the tide, but they are getting it quite wrong. It’s a learning process and I hope it’s an earnest one,” the actress concluded.
On the work front, Deepika Padukone was last featured in Gehraiyaan directed by Shakun Batra. The actress has a full fledged packed schedule with projects like The Intern remake and Pathan starring John Abraham and Shah Rukh Khan.
Further, the actress will be seen in Project K starring Prabhas. Lastly, the actress will be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan in Project K.
