Amitabh Bachchan to Be Honored With Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award for His Contribution to Indian Cinema

It was on April 17 when the decision for the award was finally made. And now, senior Bachchan will be in the company of past awardees such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and singer Asha Bhosle.

Instituted by the Deenanath Mangeshkar Smriti Pratishthan in honor of the late Bharat Ratna recipient and singer Lata Mangeshkar, the award celebrates individuals for their remarkable achievements spanning various spheres.

The annual awards ceremony, set for April 24 at the Deenanath Mangeshkar Natyagruha in Vile Parle, is expected to be a memorable occasion. Addressing the press during the announcement, music director Hridaynath Mangeshkar expressed pride in the varied talent being recognized this year. Over the past 34 years, the awards have celebrated 212 notable individuals.

The Marathi play “Galib” will receive the Mohan Wagh Award for Best Drama, while the Manobal project by the Deepstambh Foundation, aimed at providing residential training to underprivileged individuals, will be recognized for its exceptional social service efforts.

With notable figures such as singer Usha Mangeshkar and Hridaynath’s son Aadinath Mangeshkar set to attend, the occasion is anticipated to be a festivity honoring talent, devotion, and societal duty.
