It’s because Khiladi has just completed 28 years this Friday. It all came as a surprise from the director duo Abbas Mustan who tweeted to share the throwback picture from the film and tagged Akshay Kumar saying that the film has completed 28 years.
It’s because of this film that Akshay Kumar has got the tag of ‘Khiladi’ as he has given an impressive performance in the film that rightly clicked at the box office.
This is what the director duo posted on Twitter by remembering all the good times together while making the film 28 years back, “Dear Akshay Kumar, today it is 28 years since the release of Khiladi, our first film together. Feeling nostalgic. Remembering the entire team, especially Johnny Lever bhai.”
After the directors shared the throwback picture from the film on Twitter, Akshay was quick to reply.
This is what he tweeted back, “How can I forget Abbas Mustan bhai? It’s not just a film for me but a stepping stone in my career, a title which is now synonymous with me. Thank you for giving me #Khiladi.”
It was June 5, 1992 when Khiladi hit the screen for the first time. The film starred Akshay Jumar, Deepak Tijori, Ayesha Jhulka in their prominent roles.
After the film released, it shattered all the records at the box office by getting all the love and appreciation from the audience.
On the work front, Akshay will next be seen in Sooryavanshi opposite Katrina Kaif. Ideally, the film was supposed to hit theatres on March 6, but had to be postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
