There is a good news for Bollywood star Akshay Kumar as he gets the Indian citizenship. This is what the actor informed on social media on the occasion of Independence Day.

While sharing Independence Day wishes, Akshay Kumar captioned the post by saying, “Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Happy Independence Day.”

You might be aware that Akshay Kumar was always criticized for his Canadian citizenship. However, he had given an interview to a media channel where he told that India is everything to him and he has already applied for the change of passport.

It all happened in the career of Akshay Kumar in the year 1990 where he was going through a lean phase of his career. It was when he delivered over 15 flops in a row. This is when he decided to apply for a Canadian passport.


But his foreign citizenship came under real scrutiny after he couldn’t vote in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The above matter became the most talked one. This is when he had a “non-political” interview with PM Narendra Modi just before the elections.

OMG 2 Box Office Collection

On the work front, Akshay Kumar has delivered numerous films till date. Out of these films, many are hit and flops. His recent release OMG 2 is currently making a great business at the box office.

To be precise, OMG 2 has garnered a total Rs 55.17 crore in India. The film’s Monday collection was Rs 12.06 crore. According to the Sacnilk report, OMG 2 is slated to collect up to Rs 200 crore in India on day 5.

In OMG 2, Akshay Kumar plays the role of Bholenath’s messenger who can be seen standing with dreadlocks to boot.

On the other hand Lord Shiva devotee plays the role of Lord Shiva devotee named Kanti Sharan Mudgal. While Yami Gautam also plays the role in the film.

The film is directed by Amit Rai and is presented by Viacom18 Studios. It’s produced by Wakaoo and Cape of Good Films. The film revolves around some general topics like sex education among teenagers.

Earlier, a plethora of reports were published stating that the film has been put on hold by the censor board mainly due to the film’s religious theme of the film. But later, the censor board passed the film and was given an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate.
