Shilpa Shetty to Police: My Husband Innocent As Erotica is Not Porn

Ever since the Raj Kundra pornography case emerged, it looked as if Shilpa Shetty knew all the moves of her husband. This is the reason why police started questioning regarding her alleged involvement in the case.

Now, as per the details given by Shilpa to police, she’s not aware of the exact nature of the content on one of their apps ‘Hotshots’. This is the same app through which Kundra was running his alleged pornography business.

The details of the case was given by the police to the news agency ANI according to which Shilpa is trying to save her husband. She further said that it was another accused named Pradeep Bakshi who is actually involved in the case. She urged that her husband is innocent.

Pradeep Bakshi is settled in London and is the brother-in-law of Raj Kundra. While recording her statement to the police, Shilpa stressed there is a difference between erotica and porn. She also stated that her husband never served users with pornographic content.

The purpose of interrogation with Shilpa was to find and expose the alleged link of Kundra to the pornographic movies.

They also questioned about the deletion of 48 TB data that mainly had videos and images that fall under the porn category.

Kundra, on the other hand has been sent to the police custody till July 27.

Police has a record of transactions that led them to trace the bank details of Raj Kundra. As per the sources, they have a record of transaction starting from the Yes Bank to the United Bank of Africa. They now suspect that money earned from pornographic content was being used for online betting.

Police has so far seized a sum of Rs 7.5 crore

Kundra challenged the lower court’s order

Kundra’s lawyer Abad Ponda stated that the content should not be called as pornography content and the content of the app doesn’t fall under section of 67 (IT act).

Please note that if a person is caught under 67 of the IT Act, no bail will be allowed. He further said that loads of similar content can also be found on some other OTT platforms like Netflix.

As per the lawyer, the case can be prosecuted under section 292 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) that deals with “lascivious” material. And therefore, no further custody of his client is required.

Kundra has put all the blame on Pradeep Bakshi and said he is the one who is involved into all this mess.

In response to his allegations on Bakshi, Police stated that Kundra was always kept informed about the income being generated from the app. He allegedly made a WhatsApp group to discuss about its production, distribution and sales.

As per the latest developments in the case, Kundra has approached to the Bombay High Court against his arrest. He also challenged the sessions court’s order that had extended his custody till July 27.

Whereas police says that Raj Kundra is the key conspirator in the case and they have enough proof against him which includes some emails, pornographic clips and other sensitive data that they managed to recover from his office.

The above case was originally registered on Feb 4 after a woman complained that she was forced to shoot for a porn film in the pretext of giving her a job in films. This is what a police officer quoted.
