On Sunday, production house Yash Raj Films announced that War 2, the next chapter in its ambitious Spy Universe, will hit theatres worldwide on August 14.
War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, brings back Hrithik Roshan, who starred in the first film, along with Jr NTR in a prominent role for the sequel.
Through a post delivered on their official X handle, Yash Raj Films has already confirmed the War 2 release date.
The banner in the post read, “Must say… you’ve set it up brilliantly even before we’ve begun our marketing for #War2… there will be mayhem in cinemas worldwide on 14 August 2025…”
The YRF Spy Universe was established in 2012 with the release of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Ek Tha Tiger. Its success led to the creation of two sequel titled Tiger 3 (2023) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).
War, featuring Tiger Shroff alongside Hrithik Roshan, was released in 2019, followed by Pathaan in 2023, starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in their respective lead roles.
The banner’s upcoming projects include Pathaan 2 with Shah Rukh Khan, Tiger vs Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, along with Alpha, billed as the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe, featuring Sharvari and Alia Bhatt.
