It was on January 11, 2023 (on the occasion of Pongal) when Vijay starrer Varisu was released. Right from the beginning, the Tamil action drama performed exceptionally well at the box office.
Ajith’s Thunivu also released at the same time and gave tough fight to Varisu. But now, the box office numbers are saying it all.
Right from the beginning, the family drama released with positive reviews from the audience and performed consistently well.
Not only Varisu started to woo audience, the film also marked its presence at the box office by making a good number.
As per the latest update regarding the Varisu box office collection, the film has already overtaken Rs 300 crores worldwide which has been officially confirmed by the makers as well.
The film first managed to surpass the Rs 250 crore mark in a span of 11 days which was also a landmark. But now, the film has managed to add feathers to its cap by overtaking the 300 crore mark.

If we have to discuss about the states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Varisu has been able to make over Rs 50 crores at the box office.
In Tamil Nadu, Varisu created yet another record at the box office. The film has managed to surpass the collection of Bigil (Rs 132 crores) by collecting Rs 135 crores. In short, the film has become the actor’s best creation so far.
Fans are already excited about the performance of Vijay in the film as Varisu is likely to overtake the collection of Master (Rs 142 crore) in the time to come.
In overseas, the film has grabbed Rs 90 crore and has broken the record by breaking the box office collection with such a less hyped movie and also collaborating with a new composer and director.
Varisu is basically directed by Vamshi Paidipally which revolves around the story of a businessman who suffers from an ailment. The businessman is at a stage where he is forced to give his business among his three sons.
Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay play their respective lead roles while others like Venkatram, Ganesh, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Prakash Raj, and Sarathkumar are in their supporting roles.
Thaman is the one who dedicatedly composed the music and background score. The makers are also looking forward to release Varisu on various digital platforms as well.
