Well, you might be wondering about the reason of the sudden shift in the release date of the film. Well, it seems that decision to push the release date ahead is simply taken to avoid the forthcoming clutter, especially when Akshay Kumar and Rajnikanth starrer  Sci-Fi 2 will hit the big screens on November 29, 2018, which is just a week ahead than the initial release of the Student of the Year 2.

It seems a big reason to push the dates ahead in order to avoid the clash between two big budget films.

While the first film that was released in 2012 was directed by Karan Johar, the 2nd instalment is not being directed by him.

This time, the nod to direct the film has been given to Puneet Malhotra who has a great track record of directing films like Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and I Hate Luv Storys. Let’s wait and watch if his magic continues to prevail and is able to en-cash the film in the coming time.
