Jerry Douglas is a veteran actor who worked in a number of renowned films.
He’s best known for playing an exceptional role for the patriarch John Abbott on the famous soap opera. He died at the age of 88 on November 8 after having a fight with a long illness.
The actor is known to have logged on almost 900 episodes of ‘The Young and the Restless’ show.
He was quite fortunate enough to play the character of John Abbott, mainly presiding over the Jabot Cosmetics and Abbott Mansion for a period of 25 years. He continued to perform the above character until the he was killed in 2006.
In addition to the above, the veteran actor is known to have played a vital role by emerging in some other popular TV shows. The entire schedule had to be postponed as the fan-favorite character was killed off in 2006.
Some other popular TV shows in which the veteran star appeared include ‘The F.B.I.’, ‘The Incredible Hulk’, ‘Mission: Impossible’, ‘Arrested Development’, ‘Melrose Place’ and ‘Cold Case’.
Not only in TV shows, Douglas has also worked on many big screens by performing roles in movies like ‘The Godson’, ‘Head Over Spurs in Love, ‘Mommie Dearest’, Avalanche, ‘Good Guys Wear Black’ and ‘JFK’. In addition to this, he has also given various stage performances as well.
As per a news published, Douglas recently celebrated his birthday with his former classmates from ‘The Young and the Restless’.
Jerry Douglas was survived by his wife named Kym Douglas along with his sons Hunter and Jod. He also had a daughter named Avra.
