Guntur Kaaram Producer Admits Having Early Morning Show for Mahesh Babu’s Film Was “Mistake”

In a recent media interaction, producer Naga Vamsi addressed the film’s progression, acknowledging the initial skepticism from certain quarters of the media and fans.

At the same time, he underscores that the overall response from the audience has been predominantly favorable, propelling Guntur Kaaram to its triumphant success at the box office.

As the film has already garnered a huge success at the box office, Vamsi recognizes a pivotal misjudgment in the film’s initial launch. He specifically notes that having early morning shows for Guntur Kaaram conveyed an unintended message to the fans. “This is a family cinema… a Trivikram film. I’m not comparing them but it was a mistake to release a Trivikram sir film, a mother-son bond film, at 1 am. It was not a good choice.”

He elaborates further, stating that film’s title and the unconventional early morning time slot created anticipation for a different genre. Audiences were expecting a style similar to the high-octane action seen in Prabhas’ Salaar, which was concurrently running. This disparity in expectations played a role in the initial disappointment experienced by some viewers.

Guntur Kaaram is directed by Trivikram Srinivas that signifies his 3rd partnership between the director and Mahesh Babu, succeeding their prior blockbusters Athadu and Khaleja.
