Oscar 2022: It will be on March 27, 2022 when top films will get a chance to get home an Oscar. For now, the Academy has revealed the top favorite films that have a high chance to win the race in getting the highest honor.
It all happened after the Academy shared a tweet depicting its official leaderboard list as per the present voting scenario. Some of the films featured in top 5 include Johnny Depp’s ‘Minamata’, the crime thriller ‘Malignant’, sci-fi drama ‘Dune’, Camilla Cabello’s ‘Cinderella’, and Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’.
In addition to the above, another film titled ‘The Power of the Dog’ has also been featured under the category of Best Picture. Some other films in the list include Andrew Garfield’s ‘Tick, Tick…Boom!’, James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, and animated musical ‘Sing 2’.
Although, the list was shared, it was also disclosed that the voting is still on which will be closed by March 3.
After the tweet started circulating on the Internet, many on Twitter presented their views saying that the inclusion of films like ‘Cinderella’ or Army of the Dead’ winning their respective categories was simply ridiculous.
This is what the tweet read, “The #OscarFanFavourite vote is ridiculous. Nothing says “The film industry is a joke” more than an award that only exists to boost ratings,” it said.

As per the current schedule, the winners of the Oscar 2022 will be decided on March 27 at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. It will be followed by the failure of some popular films like ‘No Time To Die,’ and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ to grab their respective Oscar nomination in their respective categories.
