Soha Ali Khan shared an update on her brother Saif Ali Khan’s condition after he was injured in a shocking knife attack at his Bandra home on January 16.
She confirmed that Saif is recovering well but admitted the incident left a lasting impact on their family. In a conversation with News18 Showsha, Soha also discussed the increasing worries she has for her daughter Inaaya Naumi Kemmu’s safety, emphasizing how difficult it is to raise children in today’s unpredictable world.
Soha Ali Khan Shares Parenting Struggles In the Social Media Era: “Worried About Inaaya’s Safety”
Soha further expressed that becoming a parent brings endless worry, particularly when raising a daughter. “You lose the luxury of a full night’s rest because your mind is always racing—whether she’s sleeping too much or too little.
I naturally struggle with anxiety, and having a girl only intensifies that. You don’t want to smother them with protection, but the thought of anything bad happening is terrifying. Parenting today is incredibly challenging, especially with the pressures and exposure that come with social media,” she explained.
Promoting her upcoming film Chhorii 2, which delves into themes like motherhood, gender-based violence, and societal injustice toward girls, Soha Ali Khan reflected on the harsh realities women face in India.
She remarked that the journey of being a woman in the country is fraught with challenges from birth to widowhood, especially for those born into regressive environments or families with outdated mindsets.
She emphasized that parts of India are yet to truly progress into the modern age.
That said, Soha emphasized that her involvement in Chhorii 2 wasn’t driven solely by its societal relevance. She admitted she’s had a sheltered upbringing, but working on the film offered her a glimpse into the lives of those who face very different challenges.
“I’ve been fortunate to lead a secure life, but my profession has taken me to places and introduced me to people from vastly different circumstances,” she shared. “Projects like these push me to experience stories that aren’t mine—to live, even briefly, a reality I wouldn’t otherwise know.”
In Chhorii 2, Soha Ali Khan ventures into unfamiliar territory by portraying a chilling cult leader—an intense departure from her earlier roles.
Reflecting on the experience, she noted that playing such a dark character prompted her to consider how life experiences shape people’s actions. “Stepping into this role made me question how someone ends up down that path—no one is inherently evil.
There’s usually a reason behind it,” she said with a smile, adding that Nushrratt Bharuccha might disagree, claiming she’s met a few born that way.
Her striking transformation in the film caught even her family, Saba Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kunal Kemmu, completely off guard.
Soha Ali Khan humorously described her dramatic look in Chhorii 2, saying, “That’s exactly how I appear around 8 p.m. when my daughter won’t fall asleep.
I’m left wondering, ‘What’s the trick to getting her to bed?’ It’s pretty much my nightly routine!” The film is all set to hit Prime Video on April 11.
