Shah Rukh Khan to Portray A Gritty & Merciless Underworld Don In the Action-Thriller “King”

Shah Rukh Khan is soon expected to take on the role of a rugged underworld don in his upcoming movie, “King”, set to deliver a gritty and intense action-thriller experience.

Suhana Khan, the daughter of SRK will make her debut following her introduction to OTT platforms in “The Archies” last December. Khan’s character is going to be a formidable figure in the underworld which is bound to attract huge audience.

As per a report, SRK is set to portray a captivating role in the film, reminiscent of his past characters with darker nuances, like those in “Darr”, “Anjaam”, and “Raees”.

This is what the source has to say, “Shah Rukh Khan understands the audience’s desire to see him in morally ambiguous roles. ‘King’ holds special significance for him, and he has been meticulously collaborating with Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh on all aspects of the project. Together, they have crafted a character for SRK in ‘King’ that radiates confidence and swagger, while also possessing intriguing shades of grey.”

According to reports, “King” holds significant personal importance for Khan, and he’s deeply involved in its development. Working closely with directors Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh, he’s crafting a character that embodies both suaveness and ruthlessness. The insider shared, “While the character design has been finalized, Siddharth Anand is currently refining the action sequences with international stunt teams. Meanwhile, Sujoy is preparing the dialogue draft, as SRK oversees the creative process and trains with Suhana on modern action sequences.”

The source further discloses that SRK will be seen sporting long hair and a beard, a departure from his usual clean-cut appearance.

While plot details are unavailable, the report suggests that “King” will be an adrenaline-fueled action thriller, challenging the boundaries of survival. SRK will take on the role of a mentor, guiding a protégé through a hazardous world. And it’s none other than Suhana Khan who will portray this disciple.

Now, as per an update, filmmaker Siddharth Anand is currently in talks with other directors to collaborate on “King”. “Siddharth Anand aspires to produce a universally appealing action thriller. He is working with stunt experts from the West to manage action sequences using a blend of authentic action and VFX enhancements,” it revealed. 

“King” is scheduled to commence filming in May and will span over a period of 5 months, aiming for a theatrical release in the second half of 2025.
