Sarah Jessica Parker has been Chosen as the Recipient of the Carol Burnett Award at the Upcoming Golden Globes
The acclaimed performer, who has earned both Screen Actors Guild and Emmy awards is currently judging the 2025 Booker Prize. She was named as the Carol Burnett Award honoree for her “notable contributions to television in front of and beyond the camera.”
Helen Hoehne, who leads the Golden Globes, stated, “Few careers capture the essence of the Carol Burnett Award just like Sarah Jessica Parker’s.”
Her outstanding work on Television, paired with her total dedication towards the stage and screen storytelling, has greatly shaped contemporary pop culture. And so, we feel honored to acknowledge her immense contribution to the world of entertainment.”
The award is goig to be presented as per a new prime-time special “Golden Eve.” It will honor the recipient against both the Cecil B. DeMille and the Carol Burnett Award which actually goes to Helen Mirren. Audiences can watch the special on CBS on Jan. 8, and it will stream simultaneously on Paramount+.
Nikki Glaser returns as host for the second time when the main Golden Globes ceremony takes place on the upcoming Jan. 11.
Parker will be remembered for her outstanding performance as Carrie Bradshaw in HBO’s iconic “Sex and the City” and its sequel “And Just Like That.”
Some of her blockbuster films include Mars Attacks!, Ed Wood, The First Wives Club, Failure to Launch, Hocus Pocus 2, and Hocus Pocus.
It all happened in the year 2019 when Carol Burnett Award was first introduced. It was proposed to be presented to someone who has given outstanding contribution to the world of Television.
Some of the past recipients of this prestigious award includes the names like Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Murphy, Norman Lear, and Ted Danson. The first one however, was Burnett herself.
