The issue of Nepotism in Bollywood is not new. In fact, it has been going on for decades. The latest turn of events came to light in the year 2020 at the time of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise.
Even if there is nepotism, it has been highlighted vigorously that anyone can get affected with it. The most affected people are star kids who are often trolled just because of that.
While some in the industry continue to state that nepotism is still there in Bollywood and some believe that it is nothing more than a term.
The latest to throw light on the term is none other than Sanjay Mishra who called nepotism just a word. He was discussing the subject while having an interaction with Bollywood Hungama.
Sanjay Mishra Denies ‘Nepotism’ In Bollywood; Says, “It’s Just A Word”
Sanjay Mishra is a well known personality on Television where he has entertained the audience with his comic skill and timings. Most recently, he was discussing the issue of nepotism with Bollywood Hungama where he stressed the fact that it is nothing more than a term for him.
Mishra further stated that he has been in the Bollywood industry for over 2 decades and has touched upon the subject of nepotism. He maintained that Bollywood never differentiates people and gives opportunities to all.
When Sanjay Mishra asked to comment on the word ‘Nepotism’, he stated “It’s a word which has been put forcefully to the indsustry. Every parent wants to secure the life of their kids. Wouldn’t you want the same for your child? Tomorrow, if my daughter wants to become an actress, will I tell her no and that there’s space only for one actor? Every father wants their child to follow his footsteps take forward the legacy of not just values but also these things).”
He also stated that how Bollywood would have panned out if actor Raj Kapoor. He continued saying, “He has contributed so much to the film industry. So, all of these are just things meant to be ignored)”.
He concluded by adding, “The only people here who rise to fame are the ones who work. There are many examples of star kids who failed to make it despite having the name and resources, and many who managed to become superstars with no godfather. All of these are just words. I don’t believe in it at all).”
On the work front, Sanjay Mishra is all inclined to work for Gutlee Ladoo which will be directed by Ishrat R Khan and will be released on October 13, 2023.
