The legendary actor once spoke about his anxiety over losing his place in fans’ hearts, reflecting on the many names they used to address him
The demise of Dharmendra on November 24 has saddened millions across India, from industry peers to devoted fans. Priyanka Chopra, who acted alongside his son Sunny Deol in her Bollywood debut, commemorated him by posting a vintage clip in which he recalled the love of his fans and his shy reaction to being called “good looking.”

It all happened on Monday when Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra posted a throwback from Dharmendra’s 2018 interview with BBC Hindi on her Instagram Story.
Well, the legendary actor admitted that praise about his appearance made him self-conscious. He reflected, “Even my best qualities seem flawed at times, and I fear losing the cherished place my fans have given me in their hearts.”
This is what he expressed, “People often call me He-Man, Garam Dharam, or even Greek God. Those who truly love you only want to express that love, and I feel honored to have a place in all your hearts.”
Dharmendra’s Demise
As per reports, Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital for health reasons. Misleading reports of his death on 10 November were refuted by Hema Malini and Esha Deol.
Though he was discharged and sent home for recovery, he passed away peacefully on 24 November morning at his Juhu residence, aged 89.
The actor leaves behind his two wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, along with six children, including Sunny, Bobby, and Esha Deol.
Dharmendra was cremated at Pawan Hans Crematorium the same day, attended by family, friends, and several film industry icons such as Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Govinda, and Shah Rukh Khan to bid him farewell.
