Rajkummar Rao is all set to play the lead role in Anubhav Sinha’s socio-political drama film, ‘Bheed’.
Famous director Anubhav Sinha is going to make a socio-political drama Bheed after making Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad. Rajkummar Rao is known to have roped in for the lead role in this film.
As per the inputs from sources, the shooting of Bheed will take place in Lucknow by the end of this year. The upcoming film is jointly produced by Anubhav Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
When Rajkumar Rao was contacted to make comment about what he feels about his new assignment, this is what he shared, “I am thrilled to be working with Anubhav Sinha. It’s a matter of great honour and privilege to collaborate with a filmmaker who has such a distinct voice. Reuniting with Bhushan Kumar feels like coming back on home turf after the success of Ludo last year. I have always found myself gravitating towards stories that trigger conversation. Even as an entertainer, I want my work to get people thinking. This is an important subject and the character needs me to stretch myself as an artist, beyond my comfort zone. I can’t wait to start shooting and lose myself in this universe.”
On the work front, Rajkummar Rao is currently awaiting the release of his film ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’.
The film also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Paresh Rawal and Kriti Sanon. The film is expected to release on Disney+Hotstar on October 29, 2021.
Afterwards, Rao will feature in Hindi remake of a Telugu language film titled ‘HIT’. The original film was first released in 2020. Next, he will star in a comedy drama sequel titled ‘Badhaai Do’.
It’s a sequel to the 2018 released comedy drama Badhaai Ho’. The film starred Bhumi Pednekar.
