Ponniyin Selvan happens to be the mega project for director Mani Ratnam who has been shooting for the film by following all the Covid-19 safety measures at Hyderabad. The film is already delayed due to the pandemic situation in the country.
But now, the film’s shoot is going on with full swing. As per an update from Times of India, Parthiban is going to play the role of Sarathkumar’s brother in this Tamil language historical drama.
Parthiban was roped in mainly to play the character of Chinna Pazhuvettarayar. On the other hand, Sarath Kumar is expected to perform the role of Periya Pazhuvettarayar and will perform the brother of Parthiban.
Thota Tharani who’s leading the art direction team is working with the crew members towards the completion of the project. Trisha is also expected to play a crucial role in the film as she was traced reading the novel titled Ponniyin Selvan.
Considering the presence of so many actors in the film, Mani Ratnam has divided the shooting in different schedules by making small teams. From the very beginning, Ponniyin Selvan has been a dream project for the director which is about to come true with the release of the film.
The film stars many leading stars from Tamil cinema including Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar and others. The most exciting part of the film is that A.R. Rahman is sporting the music.
The Mani Ratnam’s starrer is known to have bankrolled by Luca Production along with director’s Madras Talkies.
Since, the above historical drama is going to cover a huge story, the makers have decided to complete the entire film into two parts.
